Wine tasting — I love them all! These wine bottles looked so pretty against the window.

What beautiful photographs I’ve seen in the past few days! I feel incredibly humble showing my own photos. I’m a beginner and opened to any comments or suggestions as I feel I have much to learn. I’ve always enjoyed taking photos but for the past 9 years, my camera has been mainly focused on my 5 lovely grandchildren. I’m so inspired by what I’ve seen on this site… I can only hope your amazing collective talent rubs off on me!

What a delightful setting for a wine tasting! Reminds me I haven’t visited any of our California vineyards in a very long time.

  • California vineyards must be very impressive. Ours are small and fairly new but nice to visit… and you’re assured to be greeted by the local cat. Nice welcome!

    GREAT image!

  • Thank you Nicole… this one I straightened slightly with the software you told me to download… beginner’s luck because I can’t see that tool anymore… but I haven’t had a chance to really play with it yet… I’m so busy these days!

so…u lost the tool?? That cant be. ViewNX2. it should be in your programs list somewhere, I am sure :-)

  • I’m sure it’s there… I just can’t seem to find it. I’m not very computer savvy. But I wont’ be able to try it out again for the next little while. So strange… I found it in a few minutes first time around and then… I don’t know where it went… or where I found it in the first place. Oh well… I’ll have to work it out when I can.

If I lived any closer id come over and help you :-)

  • You are so sweet Nicole. I’ll have to work on that soon as I really will need a few pics straightened…LOL! I’m in Newfoundland these days… one of our provinces. Cannot believe the beauty I find here. I hope I’ll get some good pics… they seem good but I haven’t checked them out on a computer screen. It can be deceiving looking on the camera screen. Here’s hoping!

Ive heard about newfoundland, Im a bit jealouse now LOL. I live in the most boring country in the world, and Im affraid to fly. I keep telling my husband if I was meant to fly, Id have wings LOL. So its not very likely I ever get to see beautifull country`s like yours, so please remember I live that throught your work :-)

  • Thank you Nicole… but looking at your own gardens and your photos, I find that hard to believe. But I must say, Newfoundland is beautiful. We have 10 provinces and they all have something special to offer… I think Newfoundland might prove to be the most amazing as every area is different. Yesterday we visited fjords, today we traveled through amazing mountains and forests, and now we’re settled in a cottage by the sea. I’m so anxious to post some of my pics and will do so as soon as I have a chance.

I cant wait to see your new work! And you have named all the things Id love to make photos of, but this country doenst provide those views. Its flat. No mountains, not fjords, just a few very uninpressing hills. And everything is so cultivated, its hard to find woods with natural growth, in fact I dont think we have any. But….we are plannng a trip to germany before the winter, that should be a relief :-)

  • I’m trying to remember where you live… is it Holland? We are vacationing with friends… Erich is German and Audrey is Dutch. Today and for the next 4-5 days we are expecting rain. If this happens, a lot of our plans will spoiled. We head home in a week so let’s hope the weather forecast is wrong.

haha yes its Holland, what a strange coincident ur with someone from here. Tell her…she made the right choice moving there!

  • LOL! She’s happy she moved here too but really loves Holland too. She tells me it’s lovely and I see some beautiful photos of Holland on RB. She went there last year and also to Germany where her husband lived. It was a beautiful trip for both of them. You know what’s so beautiful about Holland… it’s so old… here things are really quite new. If a building is 100 years old, we think it’s old. That’s what I loved about Europe… the age of the buildings. I guess all places are beautiful in their own way.

Thats true, some old things excist here. My house is over 100 years old. I live close to a village called Ochten, and you wont believe what they did there. The main road through the village was turned into a non-speeding “miracle” . Square curves all over the road, it really killed the lovely old look of the village, it looks horrible. And unfortunately, we see so many of these situations. My town is very small, about 900 people live here. So what do we need the bright green with blue busstops for? With matching bycicle racks?? They look SO out of place, and nobody takes a bus outhere because it takes at least 2 hourse to get somewhere from here. Oh well, cant stop " progress" I guess :-)
