Had to walk by a cage of cute while at a shelter today assessing some dogs. The grey on the left is one of the bars of the cage. I placed the cam on top, put it on live view, and snapped 4 shots – this is the best. They were some KEYOOT kittens!
(They are in an animal control facility in Ontario, Canada, and available for adoption. Most shelters in our area have kill rates of 70-90% for cats and kittens, esp during kitten season. Kittens like these ones are put down in enormous numbers every day all over North America. Please be kind and spay/neuter your pet before they have a litter.)
CORRECTION – This shelter has reduced their their euth rate for kittens/cats to 34%. This is an exception, not the rule, and probably due to the extraordinary efforts this shelter’s staff makes for their animals. The fact that they have to be proud of this statistic – 1/3 of all cats/kittens being euthanized – should illustrate the strain that all shelters are under.
