Luck's Corner by samedog

A street corner in Launceston, Tasmania. I had to risk life and limb to get this shot because the angle I wanted it at with the sun behind meant that I had to take the photo standing on the road. I’m not sure that the locals appreciated what I was doing.

I know the couple are heading somewhere, but I like that the photo makes it look like they’ve paused, almost as if the next step is going to take it all out of them.

And it’s hard not to think that good things happen on this corner…

Nice shot Rory. Amazing what you discover around cities when you start looking “up”. I was pretty familiar with a lot of Melbourne & Sydney shopfronts around the city, but when you start looking up a whole new world opens up, especially in Melbourne. Cheers

  • I know what you mean mate – I remember walking through the Elizabeth St bus mall heaps of times and then looking up one day and noticing all these amazing buildings towering out of what I’d only ever seen as shopfronts too.

I’ve got a stack of pics looking up at tall objects – lighthouses; buildings; a giant sculpture in Perth. Might share them one day.
