Great set in bnw. Nice touch of reflection, even if the water isn’t still.

Thanks – yeah it’s funny, there’s days when I would have sat for hours waiting for the water to be like a mirror, but I kind of like the slight ripple here (heaps better than the choppy days).

I doubt if anyone has captured this bridge quite this perfectly. brilliant.

Thanks for the comment Cameron. Without this turning into a mutual appreciation society, means a little bit more to me because I admire your work so much.

I think one of the things that I like in the photo that I’ve only noticed recently is that with a bit of imagination you can start to believe that the bridge is out in the middle of nowhere. I don’t think I noticed it before because my brain automatically adds all the bits around the fringes that it knows are there as well.

I totally agree SD, when I first saw the image it very much felt like it was isolated from the rest of the word. It’s a very dominant image.

Such a strong image, beautiful framing.

Even knowing this area as well as I do, I still forget that there’s evidence of a city either side of this image! I like to imagine that the bridge has been picked up off the Derwent and dropped somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

Nice capture Rory; it’s interesting how the reflection has more contrast that the real scene.

  • samedog replied

Thanks Mui-Ling – the bridge looks very different when seen from more conventional angles.

Out of all the thousands of images of ‘the bridge’, I have never seen one from this angle before.

  • samedog replied

Kind of shows a different personality to the bridge doesn’t it 4sure?

I agree Lynda, this is the most unusual yet obvious capture of the bridge. Fantastic shot….. and thanks for sharing it.
