The pagan winter solstice ends it’s festival on the 25th of December. It is a traditional time of giving gifts to the poor and enjoying a party. It has been going on as long as man can recall, I should hope continued long for as man remains on this planet. It is a time for everyone of all beliefs to celebrate the suns return from it’s “death” (it remains at it’s lowest point in the sky for for 3 days) then on the 25th Dec it rises again and is reborn to Virgo the morning star. Starting a the new year and turning the wheel of the seasons.
Take heart the darkness will soon give way to the life giving sun. Celebrate this the greatest and longest lived festival. (although it goes by new names its “true” meaning is a celebration of the end of the old year and the knowledge that the new year is born.)
There is no need to believe in a god/gods to celebrate, this is a festival for all. No one is excluded and it will never die.
Wishing you all a Great New Year. Merry Midwinter and Happy Solstice.
