I am a many faceted artist who works in many styles and mediums, and in all dimensions. Despite my artistic variances, there is a common thread that stitches all of my work together. It is my critique on man’s apparent love for life and his constant destruction of it.

Sam I have to hold my “tongue” OMG ha ha…they look like “Re-Born Americans” who just woke up after eight years of bing under a “Bush” and sunshine of Rush Limbaugh pumped up their derrières 24-7 only to realize they be Neo-Goths waiting for their Visigoth brethren to storm the Bastille of Republicanism to kick in to save the mobile trailer…it ain’t gonna happen they are lost…come to Jesus oh yea faithful. So much for holding my tongue…Bravo you have a Sam Dantone artistic guile.

  • Than you Montdragon,
This was painted back in ‘06, and I was afraid it would loose it’s power of a current message in the post-Bush era. I like your take that they are just now emerging from an eight year slumber.

Just as the lefties all climb under their rocks of complacency, now that Obama has their backs…

God I feel right at home with them, my brother and his wife, looks like they lived under those power lines too long.

  • To be fair, I can identify too…

Those are all my cars in the painting…

    Such truth in this image!

  • A lot of votes for Bush came from the working poor.

I have always seen it as an Irony, but hey…

What a coincidence … I just bought a book about Grant Woods yesterday :) This is really clever … well done!

  • Hi Blythart,
One little fact you will find in your book about the original of this painting is that Grant used his dentist as a model. As pure coincidence this is painted on an old dentist’s sign.

Enjoy your book and thank you,

    Sam

I love coincidences. Silly little things, such as the fact that today I bought a USB turntable from a company called Ion and my son received a CD he’d ordered from a different company also called Ion.

  • USB Turntable!!! Why hadn’t I thought of that. I have stacks that I am listening to less and less. I need to do some serious burning. Thanks for the tip…
