Grow More Hemp graphic has been published in a book...

This is my graphic that was recently published in John McCabe’s book “Marijuana & Hemp, History, Uses, Laws and controversy”… John found my image here on Redbubble, where I have it posted as a t-shirt, during his extensive research and asked if he could include it. As this is a very important subject… I am more than happy to be included… This book may very well be the next pivotal document in the movement for Industrial Hemp… A suggested read for seekers of the truth about the demonization of Hemp by greed driven corporations, that lead to prohibition…

Sam Dantone's Trilogy Show... 3rd and final installment.

Whoa!, What a summer this is turning out to be. I can’t remember a time when I was so busy… it is all catch up, so I am far from wealth, …but I am a rich man.

So the first two installments of my Trilogy Show have come and gone and it is time to announce the third and final exhibit. If you are just tuning in the Trilogy Show is a series of three solo shows I am installing in Downtown Eugene, Oregon in three consecutive months at three different venues. Check my other journal entries for more info on the past two shows at the Museum of Unfine Art and Art of War

This months show is already installed at Cowfish, a totally cool, new venue. Cowfish is a cafe by day and disco by night. It is a large place and the work is well placed. The show will hang through the month of Augu…

Well, my first installment of “Sam Dantone’s Trilogy Show” has come and gone…

The second show is already hanging, and will hang for the month of June at, “Art of War”, located at 251B W 7th. Downtown Eugene, Oregon.

There will be an opening reception friday, June 4th, starting at 5:30pm. The grill will be fired up and ready to go, with a variety of flavors to choose from. Be sure to be prompt at 5:30 if you want to see me be questioned by the First Friday Art Walk crowd. We are first on the list for the guided tour. Yes… that makes me nervous.

"Sam Dantone's Trilogy Show..."

I have the great pleasure of announcing,
not one,
not two,
but THREE SHOWS!!!

It gets better…

The shows are all back to back, in three different locations and all in Downtown Eugene Oregon.

I know, it is a little nutty, but how could I say no?

I will be hanging the first show this Saturday, May 1st at “The Museum of Unfine Art and Record Store”. Art and records… Yes! As a lover of vinyl and the underground, I will be right at home. The show will hang for the month of May. ( location: 537 Willamette St.)

For June, I will be hanging in a new gallery “The Art of War”, possibly the most original gallery and other business pairing ever. Upon entering you walk into a very well done gallery space. On one wall you can’t help to notice the guys through the b…

Stuart Henderson... Signs from 1973 to 2004. curated by Sam and Karen Dantone

Karen and I have recently completed the hanging of a show that we have been working on for more than two years…, but that is nothing compared to the thirty plus years it took the artist to create all of the work we hung.

The show is a small sample of the signs, maps, sketches, and other works by Stuart Henderson. The show will hang for the month of April, 2010, at the Siuslaw Public Library in Florence, OR. We are hanging Stu’s amazing collection of work to honor our deep love and appreciation of Stu. Stu started Henderson Signs in Florence in 1973. He owned and operated the shop till 2004 when he sold it to us. We have had very large shoes to fill following Stu’s act. Stu set a very high bar that the local community has come to expect from all of us who have followed hi…

I met Kreddible Trout...

I met Kreddible Trout

He is in route to San Diego and stopped off here in Florence, on the central coast of Oregon, to have a cup and say hi. KT is a lucky guy to be on such a positive road trip. For ART no less! I am very grateful Kreddible took out the time from his action packed tour to chat a while and to have a look at some of the originals that fill my Redbubble pages. We met at a little cafe, Nature’s Corner, and then stopped by my sign shop. The visit was short as it spans in time but huge in my life. Our meet is another reason why I love the bubble. Here in our bubbleland community we are surrounded by some very wonderful people…

Thank you Kreddible!

The Exquisite Garden... more to see.

I just returned from Bakersfield, CA where I took place in the Exquisite Garden Project, sponsored by the artist Joe Brubaker . The exhibit is being held at the Bakersfield Museum of Art . I completed the tree I envisioned without a hitch. I am very pleased with the outcome. Visit my journal to view the stages of growth of the tree. My tree is a small portion of the overall exhibit. Below is a selection of photos taken during the installation and the opening of the “Exquisite Garden”. The photos of the sculpted figures are Joe Brubaker’s creations.

How Does Your Exquisite Garden Grow...?

I just returned from Bakersfield where I took place in the Exquisite Garden Project, sponored by the artist Joe Brubaker. I completed the tree I envisioned without a hitch. I am very pleased with the outcome. As a bonus, two other artists, Michael and Trevor, just happened to build a basket like stucture from curly willow branches that fit perfectly on my tree as a nest. The pics below show the process of the tree. I will be posting more later of the whole show. My tree is a small portion of the overall exhibit. See more here
