Sam I have to hold my “tongue” OMG ha ha…they look like “Re-Born Americans” who just woke up after eight years of bing under a “Bush” and sunshine of Rush Limbaugh pumped up their derrières 24-7 only to realize they be Neo-Goths waiting for their Visigoth brethren to storm the Bastille of Republicanism to kick in to save the mobile trailer…it ain’t gonna happen they are lost…come to Jesus oh yea faithful. So much for holding my tongue…Bravo you have a Sam Dantone artistic guile.

  • Sam Dantone replied

    Than you Montdragon,
This was painted back in ‘06, and I was afraid it would loose it’s power of a current message in the post-Bush era. I like your take that they are just now emerging from an eight year slumber.

Just as the lefties all climb under their rocks of complacency, now that Obama has their backs…

What a coincidence … I just bought a book about Grant Woods yesterday :) This is really clever … well done!

  • Sam Dantone replied

    Hi Blythart,
One little fact you will find in your book about the original of this painting is that Grant used his dentist as a model. As pure coincidence this is painted on an old dentist’s sign.

Enjoy your book and thank you,

    Sam

I love coincidences. Silly little things, such as the fact that today I bought a USB turntable from a company called Ion and my son received a CD he’d ordered from a different company also called Ion.

  • Sam Dantone replied

USB Turntable!!! Why hadn’t I thought of that. I have stacks that I am listening to less and less. I need to do some serious burning. Thanks for the tip…

Lol…. maybe the best place on earth!!! :) Love the way that people continually put down tralertown (even folk that come from there). In the present economic climate and people abandoning houses as they cannot afford the mortgage (That’s one of the greatest cons on earth…) I am sure that folk in trailertown are faring far better than their better off brothers and sisters… and good luck to them too….

  • Sam Dantone replied

You are so right. My wife and I have been joking that we are able to make it through these hard times because we are already poor and have not had far to adjust. Truth is it has been very hard for us, however we have not missed a meal, yet… So I guess we are blessed.

    Sam

  • zooreka

    zooreka

I have to sympathise with you on that score. I have even had my safety net eliminated and just discovered we are going to be parents into the bargain….. I live in a 3rd world country and am unemployed here and have no idea if the people renting y house are going to be able to do so for the coming year – making it a bit of a nightmare scenario. If I have to return to Ireland I am faced with inflation that’s starting to run away, the highest deficit in Europe, all my securities wiped out, incumbent debts and now a new Levy that the Government have decided to Levy on those lucky enough to have been able to keep their jobs.

No wonder I hate the place so much – they always screw the taxpayer for every one of their Fxxk Ups!!!! Not so long about they were all wowing the wonderful Celtic Tiger that could never die…. I couldn’t get work in my own country, they wouldn’t even train up their own nationals, just imported anyone they could get. So much for development… and now I am sure many of these ingrates will bugger off (but since we’re all in the same boat at the moment I cannot see the advantage in that either…) Point is they were wrong as I knew they would be…. bad as it might be for us in Peru at the moment I am sure I made the right choices 6 years ago….. and at least the weather is much nicer in Latin America too…. The food is great and cheap so even in a bad month we still manage to survive and eat reasonable well for the time being!!!
