Red Bellied Black Snake I came across while out with my camera one early morning. Beautiful reptile. I had seen a few snakes around the camp this year unlike previous years. The Red Bellied Black Snake is thriving here at the moment. Along with Tiger snakes and others. Not a great photo I know but you get the drift!

WOW Sal Nice and crisp around the face. I don’t think I would hang around long enough to focus, let alone think about composition!!! And the tongue makes me think it probably nows your there. Are they venomous? stevealders comment makes me think they are.
Hello Sheila! The snake did know I was there but was getting some morning sun, i didnt poke him or disturb him. They are venemous and a relative of the Tiger snake however, while they can make you VERY sick they are usually not fatal. Hospital treatment is usually sought and highly recommended after a bite as they administer tiger snake anti venom. Tiger snakes are deadly.
