    DaveBassett

Great shot. An most unusual and effective angle.

  • salsbells69 replied

Thankyou Dave. The angle was due to it being a reclining bhudda..hard to get around the ornate pillars that lined each side of the head area..there was only so far you could go as it was also blocked off with bollards. Thanks so much for your time and comment :D

  • bobbymcleod

    bobbymcleod

gonna have to stop and pay this one a visit in a few weeks!

  • salsbells69 replied

Its a very interesting place bobby. There is the emerald bhudda temple in the same place..but i never got to see it..The cue was too long. But well worth a visit as there is plenty to see..you could spend a good few hours there without a problem. I hope you enjoy it there. This reclining bhudda has inlaid mother of pearl on his feet..which is interesting too…thanks for stopping by..and commenting :))

Sheesh I wanted to see his feet…hahaha A really well composed shot due to the different angle. It would look great as it is normally seen but because you invoked and saw differently it captures a lot more interest.

  • hardhhhat

    hardhhhat

Great shot – I know how hard it is to shoot this with all the tourists around and it being so large. I have a shot of it somewhere from the feet to the head to try and get it’s size in but it doesn’t do it justice. Love the colours you have captured here. Did you know it isn’t an actual Buddha it was built for tourists ;o)

  • salsbells69 replied

No, I didnt know that!! I too, have a shot from feet to head.but you are right it doesnt do it justice. The angle is hard to capture on the head due to the pillars and the area cordoned off around the head. The colours are straight from my camera..so i guess i was lucky with the light. Thanks so much for the history..:D

  • hardhhhat

    hardhhhat

I have found that picture – it’s on my web page www.hardhhhat.com under snaps->Thailand 2005 and it’s near the bottom and I have a shot almost Identical to yours and the laying down version :o) there are also lots of other Thai pictures in that collection…
