This is the end result of my interpretation of Jenn77’s wonderful photograph called, “Waiting in Line for a Lady.” We are collaborating in order to qualify for entry in the August Show, Sojie12. My painting is a mixed media combination of watercolor, pen and ink, collage, colored pencil and acrylic in that order. It is done on arches 140# cold press paper.

When viewing a group of musicians or listening to music the musicians blend into their instruments for me and they sing as one.
In all of my work I have a fondness for bold color, clear values and wild texture.
My imagination works overtime. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.

Wow!!! What fun!! I have definitely stood in line many times for the Rocky Horror Picture show (in the day!). LOL. So love this!! Sally, what a maestro and master you are.
The peace sign, Sold out expo. Wow!! Love the whole scene, And to get this beautiful color and perspective on all the kids is incredibly skillful.
Thanks for your kind words. I had so much fun. Are there any unclaimed photos? I’d love to try another, but I don’t want to be piggy. Sally

Amazing work! You should show the original picture in the description so everyone can see how close it is to the original! :)
Thanks Emilie, I think when Frannie sets it up in Sojie !2 they will appear photo first and then painting. When you see them side by side you’ll see that they are not that much alike. I merely did my interpretation of Jenn’s photo I didn’t copy it using a grid. I drew everything freehand and then, added my medias and technique to make them different. Sally

I’m just looking at all of your mediums. Wow!
I pulled out all of the stops on mediums. I might have had a little better result if I had stopped experimenting a little sooner. Sally

@Sally, no, I had enough irons in the fire for July, including a commission with a rather tight deadline, so I declined. Maybe if they do it again sometime.
terribly terrific and creative with an over wash of great fun, talent and frivolity.
lol ;-)
