The freeways really come alive when the clock strikes five. This abstract rendition of San Francisco is a watercolor/ acrylic/ ink/ and cut paper collage mixed media painting. The size of the actual painting is 8"x 8". The original is available for sale.

When viewing a group of musicians or listening to music the musicians blend into their instruments for me and they sing as one.
In all of my work I have a fondness for bold color, clear values and wild texture.
My imagination works overtime. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.

Wow, so outstandingly brilliant & beautiful. Traffic never looked so cute or great. Love all your incredible details, sensationally lovely

  • Thanks for commenting, Pinkyjain, these traffic paintings usually occur after I’ve been caught in a traffic jam . When you are at a standstill sitting on a freeway you have plenty of time to view detail. Sally

The sixties was when I lived here, but I showed here through the Nineties. I use to sit in my car waiting for traffic to move so I could get over the bay bridge and home to the East Bay. Now I wait for the Golden Gate and the north bay. All those buildings implanted themselves in my mind. The modern buildings are too clean and sterile for me. I love the oldie moldies. Thanks for commenting, Lina. I always enjoy your visits. Sally

Every six months or so I google you to see if you’re out there and I’m so happy I found you! I hope you’re doing well. These mixed media traffic collages are simply awesome.
After 14 years in the City, we just moved to Orinda and of all the things I love about S.F. the traffic is not one of them. Now I can see the stars and hopefully get back to making lots of art in my new art studio.
Thank you for jump-starting my life Sally… I mean that more than you’ll ever know!
    Best- John Tarantino

  • Hey, John, nice to hear from you. I’m through teaching and doing art shows. I’m retired, kayaking, still playing with art and having loads of fun. Keep making art and enjoying life. Drop me a note now and again. Sally
