Winter by Sally Sargent

This scratch board drawing was taken from a pen and ink sketch I drew when I lost a friend prematurely. Winter accompanied this loss. My hope was that she’d find serenity and peace. This drawing was done using a stylus and working on scratchboard.

When viewing a group of musicians or listening to music the musicians blend into their instruments for me and they sing as one.
In all of my work I have a fondness for bold color, clear values and wild texture.
My imagination works overtime. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.

Oh, my Sally ~ so sorry for the loss of your friend – so sad, but this drawing is so incredible.
    Magical + transformative…

  • Thank you, I miss her daily, and have asked her to save me a seat where-ere she went. Scratch board is fun to do. Have you ever tried it? Sally

serenity in one aspect, but surging life in another. human loss countered, or counterbalanced, by artistic rediscovery.

  • Thank you, Peter for a very profound and thoughtful comment. Sally
