I am very excited to exhibit in SoJie 14. SoJie 14 takes its name from the first letters of Solo’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. 61 other members of the Solo Exhibition group, besides myself, are exhibiting.

This exhibition is based on an open workshop, in which I participated. There, members translated participants’ traditional artworks to our respective favorite medium and style, as traditional, photographic, or digital art.

This special show is the result of a workshop involving an interaction between traditional artists and photographers. The Artist petition a photographer of their liking in order to translate their work into a traditional medium. These are the pairings that result. I’m pleased to have two paintings exhibited here.

I am very excited to exhibit in SoJie 12. SoJie 12 takes its name from the first letters of Solo’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is only the 12th one, ever, and 120 other members of the Solo Exhibition group, besides myself, are represented.

This exhibition is based on a workshop, in which I participated, where member artists translated member photographers’ images to traditional art medium.

Hands on Collage: Sargent style: For Anna and Frannie and anyone else to try.

Okay, now it’s time to choose the size of the collage you want to try. I would advise you trying several small and simple collages in order to get a feel for the medium. You could do them all simultaneously if you want. How about several 8”x10” or 11” x 14” for starters. You could use some any old kind of cardboard. If you get a winner on cruddy old cardboard you’ll kick yourself, because it won’t hold up to the test of time. Why not buy a tablet of acid free bristol paper as thick as you can find it. It usually comes in standard sizes. This is the part of Art Selling where you get to hone “People Watching” into a fine art form of its own. Once again using information shared by artists who took the selling workshops I began to observe every person who came into my display. I was mentally measuring each person to a set of criteria presented to me by theses artists.
They explained to me that although you meet hundreds, sometimes thousands of people wandering through an Art Fair, you could take all these people and divide them into four loosely knit categories. PART 1: Selling your Art on a One to One Basis
Some of my friends on Red Bubble have told me that they are about to attend a Charity Show where they will be showing and trying to sell some of their work for themselves and to benefit the charity. I spent quite a few years showing and selling my artwork personally. During the course of those years I learned a great deal about the art of selling. I learned from some fellow artists about a lady from Hawaii named Zella Jackson who was a person that helped galleries learn how to increase their sales.
