Swiss Igloo Snow Globe
Anectodal Description of the situation around the Swiss Igloo Photo.
On Feb 8th 2007 it was snowing in London. Since we work in the Gherkin, Diana and I decided we would sneak up to the top of the building to see what it was like up there during the snow storm. We were expecting it to be like a snow globe and we weren’t disappointed. The snow had settled into some of the steel diamonds and it was quite magical. The sun was trying to creep through the clouds and shone on the harsh metal structure softening it. It was like being in a transparent igloo with gentle snow billowing outside. I thought it was a shame we didn’t have a camera and decided to take a shot with my blackberry which only has 2 megapixels. I was really pleased with the outcome and named it Swiss Igloo as it was still owned by Swiss Re at the time. It rarely snows in the City of London so it was nice to capture the moment.
