So cute! Wow, does this ever bring back memories. I remember when Buster Brown shoes were advertised on our old black & white TV. I always wanted a pair but my parents couldn’t afford them.

  • Yes…pricey, I’m sure for those days. Honestly, don’t know that Buster Browns were even made then (1950)….there is only a 2 on the bottom of them. Had to use Buster Browns cuz that went so well w/ bronzed ;0)

OK, guys this was from the Buster Brown Show and yes it was syndicated.

The show started with an old guy, Smilin Ed as host, who, crooked, and then he was replaced by Andy Devine.

The characters were Froggie the Germlin of plunk your magic twanger fame, Midnight the Cat, that could play the violin and say Moew, and Squeeky the Mouse who was associate with the phrase Nice.

    The show was lame.

It had the introduction, then there was a movie segment and it ended with an interaction of the characters with the host, very typical kids stuff of the day. As it is obvious, it was sponsored by the Buster Brown Shoe company if not produced by them.

  • oh my garsh, Marsha…so dang cute!!! And YES, I do remember those characters!!! Thanks for the research….

I can still remember something like “His name is tige, he lives in a shoe. I’m Buster Brown I live in there too.” not only have an antique you have a legend.

  • I love it!! Did you see the video Marsha attached…it’s the commercial and yes, you’ve got it right (what a good memory you have). Take a look. Thank you, Sally…
