Craigmoor House built by the Marshall family in 1875 is located in the historic gold mining village of Hill End .

The building is a time capsule of times gone by and is looked after by National Parks & Wildlife as part of the Hill End historic site

Technique: HDR 3 Bracketted Exposures, tonemapped and adjusted in Photomatix, adjusted in Photoshop Elements 9.0

Equipment: Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20mm handheld

  • thanks Mandy the house is a gem , a time capsule, when we did the ghost tour we wandered past Craigmoor, the guide told us about the organ playing in the night

  • lol i think the watchful guides would not have been impressed if i got down on their antique carpets lol

    Thanks Rosalie i loved the light in this, some rooms it gave a haunting feel to the room, as if the sprits of the owners were keeping watch on us. I could picture someone sitting in this chair watching the passers by heading to their claims up and down beyers avenue as they stiched , embroidered and knitted

    Hehe – there are advantages to a camera that you can use from the hip mate! I believe they were pretty careful with the carpets … you should have taken a shot of the footwear they had you put on!

  • not only the carpets the building is all timber , the floor boards are still polished, i was surprised they allowed tripods in , but this was taken handheld , which was a challenge in low light the HDR helped
