Berry’s Bay is nestled on the Northern shore of Sydney Harbour, it is a tranquil secluded part of the harbour that has a history for boat building and BP also had a Oil Storage Facilty there last century. After BP left the land was decontaminated and oil storage facilities removed, and the area returned as parkland to the public of Sydney, its a great spot for a wander and a picnic.
I am documenting this area on how tranquil it is now, unfortunately there are plans to place a 90 vessel marina for the rich and offices ,boat building in the bay which will ruin the tranquility of the area with
Meridien Marinas’ proposed $40 million capital investment at the sites includes:
Capacity to berth 92 vessels ranging from 12m to 30m in length;
Vessel sewage pumpout and refuelling facilities;
Berths for visiting and pick-up / drop-off vessels;
A 60 vessel dry stack storage facility;
A 1150 square metre covered vessel maintenance facility;
Maritime workshops, offices and ancillary businesses including a café;
Launch area for small craft such as canoes and kayaks, with storage space;
Parking for 140 cars; and
Foreshore access and retention of the heritage convict-era bund wall and original seawall
The Full proposal is HERE:
*Technique: HDR Panoramic, 40 Portrait Bracketted (RAW= NEF) exposures shot in segments of 5 exposures (total 8 segments). The first bracket of 5 exposures was then tonemapped in photomatix 3.26 to form one 35mb tiff file, this process was then repeated 7 times to form 8 × 35 mb Tiff files which are used to the 8 segments of the panoramic image. These 8 tiff files were imported into Photoshop as a Circular panoramic merge to be stitched together to form 1 × 495mb panoramic tiff file. This tiff file was then cropped of unusable areas to form the final panoramic tiff file and also saved as a jpeg file .
Equipment: Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200mm lens, Manfrotto Tripod & Head
