Lest We Forget - Black Saturday 2009 by

BEST VIEWED LARGER

12 months ago today The Australian State of Victoria was devastated by Firestorms on a day when temperatures hit 48.5 Degree Celcius around 117 degrees Farenheit.

The result 2000 + homes destroyed 173 killed even more injured, and 7000 homeless. Whole towns were destroyed and wiped from the map, husbands, wives, grandfathers, grandmothers and children were killed.

The equivilent of a quarter of a million football ovals in land burnt out.

On this day the 7th February the Australian government has declared a day of mourning.

This image is dedicated the the people of those effected areas also the men and women who fought on Black Saturday quite often risking their own lives.

The thing i am extremely proud of how the members of Red Bubble pulled together to raise money, donate money and spread alerts on the weekend and the weeks months to follow
