Featured Take it Higher and Dilapidated Buildings Groups

This shot taken in an old Post Office in the Riverina of NSW,. where just one of those buildings you catch out of the corner of your eye as you zip down a country road. Many thanks to Rosalie Dale being the tour guide on this trip.

This old building dates back to the 1800’s, derelict but fascinating, loved the light filtering in and the broom just sitting there work unfinished.

Technique: HDR 5 Bracketted exposures, tonemapped in Photomatix and processed using Photoshop Elements 9 , Colour Effex Pro

Equipment: Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200mm lens

Really like this Phil, very nicely done.

  • thanks Ian , always a challenge when you have no control of the light and shooting handheld, but I was lucky when I started to see the afternoon light creeping through the cracks

So you snuck in for a quick shot while the wicked witch was away! That’s a stunner, Philip – the lighting is perfect to show off those warm wood tones, and the absence of any other colors makes it all the more haunting. Really special, that one… and so unusual!

  • many thanks Gary, it was great to get into this place normally they are fenced off, this one had a sign enter at own risk
