Run for the D300 and the tripod – DEFINITELY
Caught a range of shots on this Friday morning reached my vantage point about 5.30am. I saw these reflections and ran for the camera.
Sydney Harbour like a mill pond before the many vessels start their morning trips and disturbing it’s surface. The other factor is that look to the water surface that landscape photographers might know it’s like a oily look to the water that lends itself to wonderful reflective surface.
It took many shots of Sydney Harbour this morning, if, and you should have seen the sunrise that followed . WAIT ! yes i have photos of that as well.
Equipment: Manfrotto Tripod, Nikon D300 Nikon 18-200mm Lens

For the fireworks you need to set up a few cameras, get a few RB members with the right gear D300,700 & D3 etc and make a maas shoot, would love to be able to shoot with you.
Philip Johnson replied
im trying to put money aside for the d3s, then i have to put more away for the glass. well at least the aussie dollar is getting better and it’s reducing the price of nikon
Philip Johnson replied
i was lucky the last time i shot the fireworks they ended up in a USA Fireworks Magazine called Pyro76
Warren Williams
Yes glass can make the deal expensive, but you only need 2 lenses, the 18mm Zeis & 14 -24 Nikkor.
These are on my wishlist , hope father Xmas reads this.
