For over 40 years I’ve reveled in the delights of going on safari and in that time I’ve been priviledged to visit many upmarket game lodges all over Southern Africa. It’s ironic then that I’m always drawn back to the simple pleasures of the Kruger national park. This is the place that I was first introduced to the excitement and enchantment of ‘safari’ as a child and it seems to hold a special charm for me despite it’s simplicity and large communal feel. Letaba is a particularly special and beautiful camp situated along the Letaba river in the northern portion of the park. Adding to its natural charm is the fact there are resident bushbuck (Tragelaphus scriptus) that choose to spend most of their time inside the protective fences of the camp.

Although Canadian by birth, I grew up in Africa and from an early age travel became a regular part of my life. As a result I developed an early passion for my two great loves, Africa and aviation. Being fortunate to return to Africa every year with our own safari company “Explorations Africa”, all of my photos of wildlife are taken in their natural and unstaged settings. Please visit us at
