Kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros) are such irresistably beautiful antelope. Add a little early morning light and they just rocket off the charts! Their natural instinct is to freeze allowing their disruptive colouration to help them blend into their prefered thicket habitat and potentially gives you as a photographer an opportunity to take advantage of the situation to maximum effect.

The young male on the right can not only be distinguished by his short horns that have just started to sprout, but also by the beginnings of his ‘beard’ that runs under his chin as well as extending down his throat and onto his chest.

This pair seemed to just be waiting for us as we exited Wilderness Safaris fantastic camp at Pafuri in the Makuleke contract park, Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, South Africa
