One of the features of the leopard (Panthera pardus) that has always enthralled me is their penetrating gaze that seems to slice right through you. Had it not been for the keen eyesight of our game guide, we’d have never seen this gorgeous cat lying in the underbrush right near the road. Somewhat disconcerting is the knowledge that that icy stare had us fixed in it’s sights way before we were even remotely aware of his presence.
