With the blood of it’s most recent victim still fresh on its face, this African wild dog (Lycaon pictus) looks longingly after a second impala that the pack had tried unsuccesfully to bring down. Being a part of a pack of roughly 20 dogs, the impala that had just been consumed would definitely not have provided enough meat to satisfy the pack, so the hunt must go on.

Although Canadian by birth, I grew up in Africa and from an early age travel became a regular part of my life. As a result I developed an early passion for my two great loves, Africa and aviation. Being fortunate to return to Africa every year with our own safari company “Explorations Africa”, all of my photos of wildlife are taken in their natural and unstaged settings.
