A very relaxed Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) silently glides by our boat on the Chobe River, Botswana. Typically about 4m long, they are massive in scale and appetite, typically preferring to operate in murky water which affords them better camouflage. Acute senses of sight, smell and hearing are utilized with great patience to silently approach unwary prey who have come to the water to drink.

Although Canadian by birth, I grew up in Africa and from an early age travel became a regular part of my life. As a result I developed an early passion for my two great loves, Africa and aviation. Being fortunate to return to Africa every year with our own safari company “Explorations Africa”, all of my photos of wildlife are taken in their natural and unstaged settings.
