Not the hottest commodity in the world of glamour girls to start with, she hasn’t even gotten off first base and figured out that she needs to eat with her mouth shut when in company! It is always so easy to follow where a herd of Cape Buffalo (Syncerus caffer) have passed. They leave in their wake such a swath of flattened and consumed vegitation as well as ample samples of their heaped excriment that even the blind could faultlessly manage to follow!

Although Canadian by birth, I grew up in Africa and from an early age travel became a regular part of my life. As a result I developed an early passion for my two great loves, Africa and aviation. Being fortunate to return to Africa every year with our own safari company “Explorations Africa”, all of my photos of wildlife are taken in their natural and unstaged settings. she does have a lovely curve to a pair of beautiful horns for all her sloppy eating habits, and a gentle eye :)

  • Poor beasts…you know they’re homely when you have to look to the horns for beauty =)

A very nice shot Dan. She is in very good condition as well, many are covered in flies & ticks & scratches etc

  • Thanks Chris. Very true that she is fairly devoid of flies, and very unusual…interesting observation.

    Great clear shot,Dan

  • Thanks Tony. Being early morning light, I wasn’t sure that I’d be able to get the shot off without a tripod, so was really pleased that it turned out as crisply as it did.
