Oxpeckers and Zebra are constant companions. In fact, most of the plains game of the African savanah are rarely seen without the ever present companionship of this constantly active little bird. Although it’s antics are an evident nuisance to the host animal at times, they are happily tolerated for the releaf from insects they afford their hosts. At times, it’s more fun watching these little birds than the animals they’re perched on! Hluhluwe Reserve, South Africa

Although Canadian by birth, I grew up in Africa and from an early age travel became a regular part of my life. As a result I developed an early passion for my two great loves, Africa and aviation. Being fortunate to return to Africa every year with our own safari company “Explorations Africa”, all of my photos of wildlife are taken in their natural and unstaged settings.
