Maya’s unique style draws on cultural and sacred symbols and geometry, and nature. Her use of vibrant colour captures the viewer’s attention while her layered texture and intriguing composition draws the viewer into a journey that touches the soul.
As a self-taught artist, Maya has enjoyed the freedom to develop her own techniques. Her works include meticulously painted dots that build depth with colour and texture bringing life to a composition.
The originals are in oil on canvas and Maya’s methods and techniques are time consuming. A painting can take several months to complete.
Maya paints to evoke a sense of joy, harmony and peace through the visual beauty of her art, ultimately leading the viewer to a spiritual connectedness to the divine.
