I have been painting in oils (my preferred medium) since I was 15 years old. My most loved artists were Salvador Dali and Boris Vallejo. My most favourites styles were surrealism, pointillism and primitivism. I say were because I have grown out of them somewhat now.
My paintings tend to be a combination of styles although my focus/subject leans more on spiritual matters and personal visions.
In my work I place higher value on perfect colour and pattern combinations rather then correct perspectives or realism, although some of my work contains precise measurements (sacred geometry) where necessary.
I do not paint a lot. Maybe two or three paintings a year and some years I do not paint anything. Some paintings may take me six months to complete due to the stye that I use, the size of the canvas and the amount of time I have to work on it. Gateway took me eight months to complete.
