Demon

A raging Demon,
It’s creeping back inside me.
I’m trying to hide it,
I’m trying to fight it.

It’s lashing its tail.
I’m ducking, I’m frail.
I can feel it’s anger,
It feels a betrayal.

Yes I ran away, you demon
But only because you hurt,
I wanted to be free to be able to fly
But you trapped me, you caught me
And your pain made me cry.

So now you can go,
Your words do not hurt.
I’m stronger inside,
I do not feel sad, I do not feel weak,
Just leave me, you demon,
And I will be free.
