Beautiful clean, simple lines! Excellent work

  • Ryan Jones replied

It’s funny you say that – I think this was for a “lines” photography assignment

There are so many things to like about this image, top stuff! Especially love the water surface’s transition form dark to light tones in constrast to the consistency of the jetty.

  • Ryan Jones replied

Thanks Akira…I believe I originally titled this “Into the Light”. Got me thinking about changing it back :)

Beautiful tones. Perfect exposure. I agree with akira. So much to see in this one!

  • Ryan Jones replied

Thanks Distortion. It’s moments like this when I wish I would pick up the film camera more often and do some old-fashioned spot metering…I believe I used the Zone System for this exposure.

Outstanding b & w image! Love the natural curve of the bridge giving a great diagonal to the shot, wonderful detail and stunning point of view!

  • Ryan Jones replied

Thank you Joanne. I was actually driving over the draw bridge at sunset and saw this below. I had to pull over. And I had just made the decision the day before to start taking my camera with me everywhere. A nice gift.

Immediate fave.. the trouble with your work is I want to write a poem for each piece.. brilliant comp and concept.. you have an enchanting eye for subtle views so jam packed full of meaning!

  • Ryan Jones replied

Lol, I’m flattered. Pretty soon I’ll be the one looking for scenes that I think you might want to write a poem for. In all truthfullness, Linaji, your insightful Way of incorporating poems with images has inspired me to no end. It is exactly what I want to do in the future. Happily looking forward to more of your works.
