This groundhog was wary as I approached the bus stop, a short distance down the street from our house, but quickly returned to its feast after I “disappeared” behind the glass wall of the bus shelter. Horatio? It’s our generic name for groundhogs that we occasionally see in our back yard, so it seemed appropriate for this one as well….although under the circumstances, “Voratio” might be more appropriate.

Hamburg, NY, adjacent to Eighteenmile Creek, 23 August 2013.

Hmmm. Voratio Not Quite At The Bridge, eh? Our neighborhood groundhog doesn’t have such colorful treats; maybe we’ll have to plant something new for him/her. Excellent shot, Ray!

  • Yes, and don’t those little hands look familiar? Thanks!
