Ruthie, I love the painting; the colors and really loved it in the brown frame.
Is it rude to ask an artist what they were thinking about when they made a painting? Or what is means to them? Perhaps that might defeat one of the purposes of abstract.
It does look like Golden wheat with an old industrial area rising in the background. It reminds you of the late 1800s and early 1900s when working conditions were bad and people inhaled debilitating chemicals. Worked hard and died younger & stayed poorer. The contrasts of the dismal background and freshness of the wheat really give something to think about.
And then there’s the bubbles . . . :)
