What is life if it was lived in the moment?
Would it be a passing, fluttering moment or a cascading feeling moment?
Would I dance to the moment, or sing?
Or reflect upon more thoughtful things?
All the time I travel past ‘koi ponds’ and see
Living and non-living entities.
Although it may seem strange to say,
I reflect everything that passes my way.
Fast paced lives are clouds with silver-lining.
It makes normality a reality but life surreal.
It transforms a person to unimaginable heights,
To be within a moment that has a diamond seal.
A river notices shock and surprise,
When little kids become giants and superheroes that can fly.
They play in the water as if they have no concerns,
Equal in thoughts and aiming for the sky in turns.
Splashing water into the earth, the kids are unaware of their surroundings,
Yet a sixth sense lingers when they hear familiar calling.
Like ‘sleeping beauties’ they awaken from their peaceful and relaxing state.
With promises to play again they return to their lives with a falling rate.
Water lands upon the grass,
Where big feet cover the leafy stems with plastic.
Connecting life to a dream a patch of grass meets the sky,
Falling back towards the couple with the sparkle in their eyes.
The breeze succeeds in shaking physical aspects of life,
But in the moment no shakes are encountered with worry or fright.
They gaze out to the water, hands interwoven in love,
Time, worries or eating are the dark, and love, closeness and reflection are the light.
Past this content couple, travelling into a starry night,
One reflects upon a single person in the middle of
A colourful display of balloons and happiness are bright.
Contemplation on the Artist and their work of art.
Reflecting upon themselves in a familiar place,
They are absorbed and quiet in their conversation.
Until at a time gazes interlock, and then personal appearance and concerns are locked in a box,
Although a mile apart they are drawn together and putting the box of thoughts into the cellar.
Drifting back to contemplating life once more,
Recognising that life are staircases filled with ‘in the moment’ memories.
These memories fill corners with light and alter people’s personalities,
They free a person’s thought and feelings with no fear of reprisal and worry.
In the moment all seems clear,
People suffer, rejoice and feel free to express feelings,
You may wonder who I am that reflects these ‘moments’ with love and respect,
For I am a mirror, knowledgeable and yet designed without wings.
