Another fab ink working! And Poe! One of my favourite authors…and I read your little comment on him looking like John Cleese, I wouldn’t have seen it if you hadn’t said! ;) Great portrait.
ZOMBIE RUST replied
Thank you Lynette my friend!
And a nice coincidence is that today it’s John Cleese’s birthday (27/10)... Heh eeh… Happy birthday to him then (even if this is all about Poe and dark literature in general…)

Thank you so much! So kind of you…
I like the style of yours, it may not be a complete painting but there’s something about it that makes it unique…

Brilliant portrait. A rather sombre, reflective mood about him here, which I like very much, love your solid ink strokes and lighter touches of shade and tone, really beautifully done. Oh…and John Cleese…yes I see it but don’t get me started, I am a HUGE Python fan. This portrait has a bit of the “Dead Parrot” expression on his face. I digress….lovely work.
ZOMBIE RUST replied
Thank you so much there, you are so very kind!
I remember the Dead Parrot, that was hilarious! It’s strange starting a conversation about comedy below a painting that concerns such a dark writer…
Thanks again!
Mollypop
Ah yes, the irony is not lost on me. but I have heard that behind many a comedian lays a dark and tormented soul, therefore, perhaps this is not so strange afterall. Your work is most impressive. Love your folio here on RB.

Thank you for adding the link to his Wikipedia article. Being an Australian writer I know of Poe but have not studied him. Yet just the quick read through that link gave me so much more to the man and thus a deeper appreciation to your stunning art
This is another version of the daguerreotype of him and I think the better one! I feel you have captured him perfectly; given him that satirical wit to his smile that the 1860’s painter did not!!
I feel Poe is not only the inventor or Detective stories, short stories and Sci-Fi but of Black Humor also! He seems to have been the one to take Gothic Horror and find the Satirical Quirk in it!
Thank yo for introducing me properly to this stunning Literary Master!
Chookas! ♥

Thank you so much there!
I believe you’re so right! Poe has a so much deep satyrical side to his work and it’s strange that it is not so much recognizable by all…
Myself I enjoy so much humour in horror, in fact much more than the plain stereotypical gothic/gore/dark plain horror art… Like I’ve said in the subtitle tagline of HORRORAMA, I want The dark side of HORROR … and the fun of it all..
You are true kindness, I’m so much flattered…!
