Over the course of history, greater power has become centralised and focussed into ever fewer hands. Through fear and greed, or the pursuit of influence and arcane secrets, men of influence across the ages have submitted to the power of the pyramid, the power of hierarchy.
In this system, at each level, there are many people wholly dependant upon fewer superiors, and if such a superior says jump, those they employ must ask “how high”. If ever such an order were refused then they would sacrifice their position, their role in the pyramid. Through this method, the many can be ruled by the few. Power is delegated through dependence.
Unfortunately, as we know only too well, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, and positions of power attract the least among us, like flies to dung.
Surely our route to salvation is through to reversing this trend and upturning the pyramid of control?
This is what I have attempted to symbolise in this piece of ARTiculation entitled “Salvation”. It features the pyramid from the reverse of the dollar bill, which has been upturned with its capstone, the “eye of providence” imprisoned within its own construct. A crowd celebrates ontop, while the foreground banner has been ripped away, so rather than reading “Novus Ordo Seclorm” (“New Secular Order”/“New World Order”)…it instead reads “No Ordo Seclorum”.
