i love the little progression slide. i always thought you were a vector artist. damn fine linework my friend! lol great design as well x3.

  • rubyred replied

Thanks very much bah. I’m much happier with a pen in my hand rather than a mouse, but I like to mix the two.

Your work is not only creative, rubyred – it always (well, almost always) holds a strong message of some kind that is embedded in every component of each piece.
    Furthermore, you hand-design them!
You’re a very talented designer – keep up the amazing work, mate!

so do you red-draw your lines in the puter or just colour digitaly?

what sort of paper do you use?

  • rubyred replied

Hey Dave, I draw up the design with ink on cartridge paper, scan it in then colour up in Photoshop. I create some texture with a toothbrush and ink and scan that too. This design has 18 different layers in PS. I don’t redraw the lines, as I like the look of real lines. Make much sense?

  • rubyred replied

Thanks Miriam. I use Photoshop to put the design together, using a bit of handmade texture scanned in.

To create the images you do, with a pen to paper, is truly a visual feast. This is another work of art that should be purchased 10x over. Now when are you going to open your own shop?!

  • rubyred replied

Thanks DL. It’s a combination of techniques. But the computer is just another tool, like pen and paper to me. It’s the combining of tools that I enjoy the most.

  • Jason Moses
