suggestions for a decent landscape lens (please)...

I would love to hear any suggestion for a good landscape lens.
I am using Canon Xti

these are the lenses I own at this time…
Tamron 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6
Tamron 70-300mm Di LD f/4-5.6
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM

any suggestions for filters that works well with sunsets/skies?

By the looks your best bet would be a wider angle lens. There’s a few; Sigma 10-20, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 . Maybe another option would be in the 17-50 range.
Two choices of filters spring to mind, one the Polariser and the other a Neutral Density filter. Both are good to use under different conditions. Polarises are best used at an angle of 90 degrees from the sun and neutral density filters allow you longer shutter speeds.

  • thank you so much , Drec for taking the time. After researching both lenses and few other wide angle lenses… Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 looks like a winner. I’ll read more reviews and go from there.
I already have a polarizer, so I’ll look into neutral density filter.
    Appreciate you, Drec :)

Got a canon 17-40mm f 4l usm lens instead. Didn’t have time to play with it yet as of this time.
