Hi,
rubyjo is my pen name. I use it to protect my family from my writings, they just might send me packing if they read some of the stuff whirling around in my head.
Actually I just don’t want to hurt anyones feelings.

I tried to work off two profiles for a while, so my family could see my tamer stuff. But it became confusing when the same person out there would comment on stuff in both profiles. I couldn’t remember who I was supposed to be. I learned that to have multiple sites here, you have to be good at it and quite frankly, I sucked at it. One profile had to go, or at least have minimal activity, so after some soul searching (ok a lot), I chose to keep ruby.

Someone asked me to tell 10 things about myself, so-
1. I am in my mid 40’s although that always surprises the hell out of me, I feel like I am 30, which is still old to some of you.
2. I have 2 teenage boys, and various temporary live in teenagers. Right now I have a family of 5. That may change any day, add or lose a few. I love teenagers.
3. I am a Nurse Practitioner. I worked hard to get where I am, I might tell that story one day. I am happy with my job, no let me rephrase that- I love my job.
4. I love music. Mostly rock and roll, blues, jazz, some country but I listen to about anything that has good guitar, or piano, or drums, or sax, or… (insert instrument of your choice). I am listening to todays music now, what with all the teenagers stomping through my house. My oldest son plays the piano and the guitar- self taught- and I could listen to him all day. My 14 year old nephew is an insanely good guitar player. He sits at my table and plays for me. I love that boy, I would raise him too but his Mom kind of loves him and won’t let me have him.
5. I am a bookaholic.
6. I might be an alcoholic.
7. I love people, did I say that already? I don’t judge people, and I tolerate a lot from people (unless they are hurting one of my kids then I become quite nasty). I feel that most people are doing the best they can to get through this life and I respect that.
8. I don’t ask a lot from a man. Stimulating conversation, laughter, and cleanliness (I am a little OCD sometimes but just take a shower).
9. I have a cute little Mini Cooper, purple haze with white stripes. It has turbo which is kind of fun in a 4 cylinder car. Just enough power to play and not enough to get out of hand. It is kind of comical to see four 6 foot teenagers unfold themselves and climb out of it, but they love the attention they get from their friends. That car gets more attention than I ever did.
10. Finally (!) number 10, I was running out of things to say. I am living in the house where I was raised. I bought it from my Dad three years ago and we have been remodeling it. I finally got to move in last October. I feel my Mom here, she died of cancer 2 years ago. I feel my Dad, my brothers, our friends, I feel my childhood here. Mostly, it just feels good here.
