Fushimi Inari is a remarkable shinto shrine near Kyoto, characterized by its hundreds of gates (torii) snaking up the hills. It is located on a beautiful forested mountain, and makes for a great hike. There is a mystical feeling to this site.
I was born in Switzerland and eventually moved to Los Angeles to obtain a Ph.D. in chemistry. I have had a passion for the arts since my childhood, in addition to the sciences, all of which have led me to pursue photography as a means of expressing and developing my creative vision of the world.
