The Unicorn

“Let us talk” said the Unicorn “of many thing”
The State of the world, of Princes and Kings
Tis’ many a long year since I wandered This Earth
Alas there’s no feelings of Joy or Mirth

What have you wretched mortals done
To this land where natures beauty once shone
How many species of plants and animals lost
Can you see what you’ve done, Can You count the cost

The Floods and the Famines, are these Natures way
Or has Man’s interference brought forth this day
You’ve squandered the forests, raped the lands
Polluted the seas, with your wasteful hands

The bombs that you tested in Peace for War
Have shaken this planet to its thermal core
The Ozone Layer shows damage there too
Do you care at all, How Many, How Few

When we creatures of Legend and Myth did go
We left a wonderous land with feelings of woe
This Earth was a jewel of beauty and grace
A Gift of great love to the human race

With Your Wars and Your Greed, I see your Fate
This world will die, more soon than late
“Take Heed” said The Unicorn, “Help your Land”
For times running out like grains of sand
