Sweep Deprivation
Like most of my work posted here this is a photograph of a two-dimensional painting. Contrary to all appearances, this is a flat trompe l’oeil painting and is actually the first cutout I did back in 1996. It is cut from a single sheet of 3/4 inch birch plywood and then painted to allow real shadows to fall on the wall and match up with the painted shadows.
