I couldn’t resist the sunset reflecting on this rock jutting out into the ocean at Point Lonsdale.
After uploading the photo I noticed the face sculptured by wind and rain over the years.
What an amazing view this guy has looking out over the sea. He made me feel like he was a guardian of the coast backing up the lighthouse above him.

Very nice shooting. The textures are amazing! :)

  • Thank you so much Anna,
I was in awe of the textures in this rock even more so when I took a good look at it later. Sometimes it pays to step back a little and take it all in. :)

Really remarkable light and color, and such a lovely warmth

  • Thank you Richard :)

It was a rare sunset that night.
Turns out they were burning off in the rainforest area on the horizon of the setting sun, the light from the fires enhanced the sunset creating a wonderful red glow…very special.

very nice shot Rhonda. what an amazing scene

  • thank you Dave :)

Its a great spot to get photos, great rocks like these, then the sea which also just past this rock is the entrance to our bay…the narrow channel called the rip is a scene of many boating/shipping dramas, above is a lighthouse, then looking back down the other way is our gorgeous coastline beaches and at the right time of day awesome sunsets…cant really go wrong there which probably explains why there were so many cameras out this particular night…lol
