Artist's Description

Decorative cast iron lace work dates from early Victorian through to the Edwardian and Federation periods. Whether a grand mansion or a humble cottage, cast iron lace was the preferred finishing touch for the vast majority of houses, and can be found in the more historical areas of Melbourne.
This photograph was voted into the top ten of the Full Frontal Facades challenge ‘Facades with a Bike’ and has currently (30/6/15 ) been viewed 1202 times.
