Bois & Charbons, the old Convent, Abbotsford

These wonderful old buildings are part of the old Convent in Abbotsford. It’s well worth a visit, has a great bakery and cafe, as well as Artist’s Markets on the first and third Sundays every month.

Nice to see such a great rendition. It echos the essence France…or perhaps old Quebec… Strange that it exists so near to the heart of Melbourne.

  • Roz McQuillan replied

Thanks chronicdreamer! Nice to hear from you!

Great spot isn’t it. It’s a shame the advertising agents doctored it though – it will be great when it is all restored such history in the place. Have you taken any photos of the old oak tree – I used to spend my Uni lunches under it!

  • Roz McQuillan replied

It’s a wonderful place, I agree. I do an artist’s market there once a month, and I always admire that tree, but have never photographed it, though I have often thought about it!
