London to Home

Bread is baking, smell of yeast,
Friends gather for the feast.
Sun is setting across the sea,
Lonely traveler, fight for me.

Letters written full of pain,
Open wounds keep us sane.
Writing poems deep and strong,
Etched in granite, carved in stone.

The night will pass into the day,
Another letter from far away.
Walls are high, moats are deep,
Castle ancient, mountain steep.

Coffee brewing, before he wakes,
Vows of love not to break.
Paint a potrait clear and strong,
Etched in granite, carved in stone.

Sun is rising across the sea,
Desperate traveler, wait for me.
Dance in gardens behind the walls,
See nameless faces in gallery halls.

London days of tea and bread,
Finally, a place to rest my head.
Music plays soft, yet strong,
Eyched in granite, carved in stone.

I was married in London in 1991. I was alone with no family or friends in a foreign country. I was afraid and having a panic attack. I have been married 19 years now!

Born and raised in Upstate New York, I attended art school there until 1987. I traveled around he US and Europe where I met my Australian husband. We were married in the UK in 1990. I now live in Melbourne, Australia where I continue to create my art.
