I promised to send Kala ( A Love of Boats group ) a photograph of this carpet rose.
The rose was brought as a cutting from Scotland to Gt, Barrier Island NZ in the 1850’s. The ancestors of these people gave me two cuttings when we lived on the Island. They thrived so when we left the Island we took five cuttings to grow in our garden at Paihia, Bay of Islands, New Zealand. Four survived and we still enjoy them today – see for yourself, they are beautiful !
