Re the title, unfortunately this was not to be ! These two Ring Necked African Doves came back two days running to view this flower basket.
Sadly, we found the remains of a Dove on the road, obviously the victim of a hit and run driver. We have seen a single Dove for about a week so guess this is the partner….! Life can be cruel sometimes – hence the black matt that I used in the description.

Great shot and love the title. You must have a fantastic group of birds
Thank you Dick – we do have quite a collection but unfortunately we lost one of this pair of Doves to a car !

A beautiful shot, well done Roy..

Many thanks John both for your kind comment and favourite. These birds certainly keep us occupied ! Sadly, one of these Doves was hit by a car and the other one looks very lonely !

Beautiful Roy ! Love that Splash of red again. A friend of mine had two Peaceful Doves take up residence in one of her hanging baskets. Very trusting!
Thank you for your lovely comments Rita. Unfortunately one of this pair was killed by a car and the other one looks rather lonely !

Aw what a sad tale. It would have been perfect too right next door to the famous Casa Roy bird restaurant.
Thank you kindly Colin both for your great comment and favourite. Reckon we could have had all the rest of the clan descend on us for the wake…..!

Oh Roy I just read the rest of the info . So sad for these beautiful, gentle birds.
Yes, it is sad – the remaining one wanders around looking lonely ! Hopefully, as there are thirty odd others hanging around it will find another mate.
