We are now experiencing some spectacular sunsets – unfortunately these are due to the dust and smoke in the atmosphere from the horrific bush fires in Tasmania and mainland Australia.

Great shot Roy. The climate is standing on it’s head The Aussies could do with some of our rain. 2012 was the wettest year since records began.
Many thanks Colin. Quite agree with you, our so called ’ Winterless North ’ is changing with more rain and cooler days. The South Island is now having droughts and hot days but also interspersed with flooding ! Never mind, I have my Ark half finished in the back garden……lol !

Incredible skies and colour Roy. Breathtaking. I didn’t realize you would be seeing the smoke. It has been very windy for days now, strong South Easterlies at nights that give some relief from this torrid heat. Today it is forecast to hit 40c again and thankfully no hot northerly accompanying it this time. Hope the fire bugs are being watched.
Many thanks Rita. We don’t actually see it, it’s the particles in the atmosphere that gives off the beautiful colours. Sadly it happens every year now or whenever there are fires or eruptions from volcanoes !

Beautiful sky Roy! It’s amazing to see such a red sky from the bush fires in Tassie. Very sad indeed! NSW is bracing itself for a record heatwave tomorrow. Take care. :o)
Many thanks Marilyn. Yes, it is such a tragedy with the loss of lives and homes and it seems to happen yearly now.

Thank you so much Susie and yes, we feel the same way. The poor people lose lives and homes every year now.
