I think that's enough jungle juice for one day...........! by

It looks like the juice from this mandarin must have been pretty potent and the Silver Eye has had too much ! I can’t make up my mind whether the male House Sparrow is patiently waiting his turn or is looking on with disapproval ! Actually, these wonderful little birds will clean out an apple, orange or mandarin and just leave a thin skin still perfectly shaped.

Location – at the back of my house Paihia, Bay of Islands, New Zealand.

Aren’t they just so comical Roy… lovely image… I love watching them in the most awkward positions, and you have captured this one so well..

  • Many thanks Andrea – yes we are thoroughly enjoying their antics ! Things have quietened down a bit as the Mynah’s and Tui are getting a bit stroppy.

Ha ha great capture Roy … he does look a little like he’s had one over the eight ! I sometimes put out melon skins with some seeds and pulp and they peck them clean … then the badger comes along at night and eats the skin so nothing is wasted!

  • Nothing quite like feeding the wildlife Susie ! Thank you for your kind comment. This way, exchange Badger for Possums – but I bring the skins in as I don’t want to encourage the Possums, they are one damn nuisance !

  • Thank you kindly Jamie – both for your kind comments and favourite, I do appreciate it. The Indian Mynah’s, the bandits of NZ birds and our resident Tui are getting a bit stroppy so things have quietened down with the Silver Eyes.
